2017 Xavier Gerard Cote Rotie La Landonne 1.5L

Xavier Gérard is a rising star in the Northern Rhône. Since taking over his family’s vineyards in Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu in 2013, he has refined a style that emphasizes purity, finesse, and classic terroir expression. His Côte-Rôties are elegant yet deep, while his Condrieus showcase bright acidity and mineral precision. Xavier also owns a small plot in the famed La Landonne vineyard. Previously blended into his main cuvée, he began bottling it separately in 2013. Fermented without destemming and aged for two years in barrel, this wine is more concentrated and structured than his regular bottling and rewards cellaring. In top vintages, just 400 bottles are made.
