René Collard, born in 1921 in the Marne Valley, began crafting Champagne at 22 after inheriting less than a hectare of vines in Reuil. Over time, he expanded to nearly 7 hectares, focusing on 90% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay from Reuil and Damery. His exceptional cellar, 25-75 feet deep, maintains a perfect 8.5°C, preserving wines since their creation. This remarkable 1985 vintage, a 90% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay blend, offers notes of white truffles, brioche, and pine nuts, showcasing incredible complexity, elegance, and freshness despite its age.
