2011 BOND St. Eden
"Readers may wish to reference my review of 2011 BOND Quella as I get into extravagant detail about the cold, rainy, foggy growing season. I tasted the 2011 BOND wines with Cory Empting and Will Harlan in February of 2024, and the wines were just remarkable. The 2011 St. Eden is such an enticing quaffer: the black fruit notes are met with rich earth overtones, while bright and lifted spicy wild herbs with dried tobacco nuances build on this medium-bodied wine with emerging chocolate-tinged tannins that have a super-fine grain quality, framed by a backbone of expressive acidity. This is so drinkable and morphs in the glass every 10 minutes. It's a wine to be enjoyed at the pull of the cork without decanting and should be swirled regularly while noticing the evolution from bright and spicy wild herbs to more savoury, almost cured meat nuances intermixed with excellent earthen notes. Terrific length." - 96/100 Decanter
