2019 Alban Vineyards 'Forsythe Vineyard - The Mason' Mourvedre

"Thanks to two new blocks of Mourvèdre coming online in 2022, we can hopefully see a touch more of the Mason cuvée from this estate as it's one of the truly great expressions of the variety in California. For now, there’s a scant one 300-liter barrel of the 2019 Mason, but it's worth fighting over, no doubt. Dense purple-hued, with awesome red and black fruits, violets, ground pepper, and hints of iron, it has perfectly integrated oak, full-bodied richness, a layered, seamless mouthfeel, and incredible length. Give it a few years if you can." - 98/100 Jeb Dunnuck
