Domaine Michel Gaunoux was established in 1875 by Alexandre Gaunoux, who became known for producing high-quality Pommard wines in the Côte de Beaune. His grandson, Michel Gaunoux, managed the estate from 1957 until his death in 1984 and was regarded as a highly skilled winemaker in Burgundy.
After his passing, the estate was continued by his widow and their two children, Anne and Alexandre, who retained the name "Michel Gaunoux" in his honor. The domaine is known for its traditional winemaking practices, including extended vatting periods, and produces structured wines that develop complexity with age.
