“Thrilling notes of crème de cassis, lead pencil, charcoal, and tobacco leaf all emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Klein, which has a top Pauillac-like style in both its aromatics and its structure. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, with silky yet substantial tannins, this is another riveting Cabernet from the northeast side of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It offers some pleasure today, in a youthful, educational sense, but it will take a decade to hit maturity and will keep for 30 years or more.
