1975 Gaja Barbaresco DOCG
Founded in 1859, Gaja has evolved from a Barbaresco tavern into one of Italy’s most iconic wineries. Under Angelo Gaja, the fourth generation of the Gaja wine dynasty, the estate championed modern winemaking, single-vineyard Barbarescos, and uncompromising quality. Early branding, strategic vineyard expansion, and bold innovation (sometimes outside appellation rules) brought global acclaim. Today, Gaja farms about 250 acres in Piedmont and remains a benchmark for Italian fine wine. This bottle of Gaja Barbaresco hails from the same vintage Gaja introduced malolactic fermentation, French barriques, and new grape varieties to Piedmont, allowing their wines to enter a competitive standard and price point on-par with their grand cru counterparts.
